Phenomenal jumper by Montreal. Nero has already clocked up 67 BE Points, therefore listed as a grade 1 Advanced horse by British Eventing.

16.2hh beautiful bay gelding, 9 years old. Talented in all 3 phases although specialises in the jumping phases.

Nero has been produced by Tim for the last 4 years, they have a great partnership which has so far taken them to 3 star level in 2013, completing the special 8/9 year old CIC3* at Blenheim Palace in September. This result topped off a successful season which included Nero winning his Intermediate section at Nunney International in June, before jumping double clear at Barbury CIC2*, which led on to completing his first Advanced level event at Aston-Le-Walls. From here Nero stormed round Hartpury CCI2* as trialblazer and finished the 3 day international event in 25th position. He then went on to finish 11th at his second ever Advanced event, before heading to Blenheim where he gained a qualifying result on his first attempt at CIC3* level.

During 2014, Nero has exceeded expectations, completing three tough CIC3* tracks at Belton, Chatsworth & Barbury. He also completed his first CCI3* at Bramham in June with an impressive clear showjumping round on the final day - showing his potential as a true top level three day event horse. His 2014 results led to CCI4* Qualification in July, at which point the option of aiming him at Burghley CCI4* was dicussed between Tim, his trainers and support team. Nero ran confidently around the Intermediate Championship track at Gatcombe in early August, after which all of his training and Tim's sights were set on making their 4* debut! The duo performed a smart dressage test for a score of 66.2 - Tim believes there were plenty of opportunities where they could have collected higher marks, but overall he was thrilled with their first attempt at this level. The cross country course was as big and technical as ever, with several combinations tougher than previous years. The ground also heavily influenced the results this year, with those who finished picking up large amounts of time faults. Nero showed his class around the track, making light work of some of the particularly challenging questions and picking up impressive feedback from the Team GBR Selectors including Yogi Breisner, who noted his performance as the youngest horse competing at the event. Nero kept a clean jumping sheet all the way around the track, until Tim made the admirable decision to retire him just 3 simple fences from home as the horse, although still giving his all, had tired to a point where Tim felt it unfair to ask anymore of him. Yogi Breisner GBR Performance Coach, agreed with Tim's choice commenting 'sensible decision' and other highly regarded equestrians also praised Tim for putting his horse first. Nero recovered well after Burghley and was fully vet checked before his short end of season break. He is now back in training for next season with a Spring CCI3* planned. Tim feels Nero will come out next season as a fitter and stronger horse after his 2014 achievements, ready to work towards his next exciting CCI4*!

Nero is showing the scope and potential to be a competitive 4* horse.
Videos of his Burghley Dressage Test & Cross Country round can be viewed on: http://burghley.tv/vod2014/ - Select Tim's name from the drop down menu.

Owners are sought to continue his career at the higher levels. By joining the team with such an establised horse, owners are able to attend high profile and prestigious events, with behind the scenes access from the coming season. An exciting and rare opportunity.
